Description
Role
The University of Salford has a range of casework procedures which apply to students. Procedures required panels to consider cases and reach decisions/outcomes. So, if you are interested in ensuring that there is a student voice heard during student panel meetings and you are keen to contribute to fair and equitable decision making, this opportunity may be of interest.
The University is looking for students from all Schools who represent the diversity of our student body to act as a student representative on student casework panels. Student Panel Members act as a representative of the Students’ Union, and are there to represent the student voice, not to advocate for the student whose case is being heard.
Duties and responsibilities

The Procedures which require Panels are:

- Academic Misconduct Procedure - Used by the University to consider concerns where concerns are raised about possible use of unfair means in work submitted by students for assessment or breaches of examination rules
- Fitness to Practice Procedure - Used by the University to consider concerns of professional misconduct/professional unsuitability relating to students on courses regulated by professional bodies (e.g. NMC, HCPC)
- Student Complaints Procedure - Used by students to raise concerns about services provided by the University
- Student Misconduct Procedure - Used by the University to consider concerns about student behaviour
