Role

Warwick Medical School is seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual to fill the post of Research Degrees Coordinator. This role will be responsible for providing high quality support for the management, administration, and delivery of the department’s postgraduate research degrees.  

You will be in the pivotal role of providing excellent customer service as the first point of contact for all applicants, students, and academic staff. In organising, coordinating, and administering our research degree programmes you will be instrumental in ensuring that our students receive an excellent student experience whilst studying with us. 

Duties and responsibilities

1. Provide excellent customer service as the first point of contact for all applicants, students, and academic staff for PGR programmes. 

2. Provide advice on admission procedures and requirements for access to PGR programmes for both Home/EU and Overseas applicants. 

3. Advise students on departmental and University regulations and policies. 

4. Provide administrative support to the Research Degrees Officer in managing the upgrade and progress processes.

5. Provide administrative support the Research Degrees Officer in managing the viva voce examinations. 

6. Use the SITS Student Records System and other databases to maintain student records.

7. Other duties may be required in consultation with the Operations Manager, Research Degrees Officer, and Director of Graduate Research Studies.

Skills and experience

• Experience in an administrative position

• Experience of working in a complex office environment and ability to deal with deadlines in a fast paced work environment

• Good IT skills, particularly MS Office, MS Outlook and internet explorer

• Ability to work within a team environment

• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
