THE ROLEThe post holder will provide a high standard of administrative support to the charitable trust Film is Fabulous! under the terms of a Memorandum of Understanding with DMU. This will include supporting high priority strategic activities such as writing core policies to support the trust and partnership into its next phase of development.This role may suit a DMU student who have awareness or experience of policy, some who may have worked or familiar with a HR environment would be ideally suited.The role can mainly be conducted remotely, minimal need to work on campus at DMU.You will work 7.5 hours per week (these can be spread flexibly across the week to suit your circumstances.)The start date intended will be 20/07/2026 with an expected end date of 09/10/2026.

Duties and responsibilities
The post holder will provide a range of flexible, high-quality administrative support, which may include the following:

 
• Writing core policies to support the trust and partnership in its next phase of development
 
• Write up and circulate notes from quarterly trustees meetings
 
• Perform other short-term administrative duties commensurate with the job grade as reasonably required from time to time to support the effective operation of the trust.
 
• Respond positively to requests to support occasional public events
 
• Treat all trustees of Film is Fabulous! and other DMU staff, students, contractors and visitors with dignity and respect. Provide a service that complies with the Equality Act 2010, eliminating unlawful discrimination, advancing equality of opportunity and fostering good relations with particular attention to the protected characteristics of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief (or none), sex and sexual orientation.

Skills and experience

  • Five GCSEs, Grade C or above, including English and Maths (or equivalent).
  • Experience of working in an administrative role.
  • Experience of working on a number of activities concurrently
  • Experience of using spreadsheets and large databases.
  • Experience of working within a team.
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office (or equivalent) and web-based applications.
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to collect, collate, organise and log data and records accurately and in a timely manner (hard copy and electronically).
  • Ability to prioritise workload with minimal supervision in a logical and transparent manner.
  • Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively both internally and externally at all levels.
  • Professional and approachable manner at all times.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Willingness to be flexible towards duties and adaptable towards change.
  • Understands confidentiality and the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulations
  • Ability to follow processes and adhere to deadlines
  • Able to provide a service to a diverse range of people to promote good relations and equality
  • Willingness to work occasional out of office hours (e.g. evenings and weekends)
  • The post is suited to home working.
