Role
We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Video Editor/Content Producer to support the Games Institute in creating high-quality video content that enhances our recruitment, marketing, and reputation-building activities. 

The successful candidate will play a key role in documenting and promoting major events, including Let's Talk Games, the UKIE Conference, and our annual Christmas Lectures. The role will also involve producing engaging showreels that showcase student work and achievements, as well as supporting the Institute's social media content. 
This is an excellent opportunity for a media student to gain hands-on experience in content creation while contributing to the visibility and success of the Games Institute.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Film, edit, and produce high-quality video content for key events, including Let's Talk Games, the UKIE Conference, and the Christmas Lectures.
  • Create engaging and professional showreels showcasing student projects and achievements.
  • Collaborate with academic staff and the Games Institute team to plan, develop, and deliver video content projects.
  • Produce content suitable for use across a range of platforms, including social media, websites, and promotional materials.
  • Ensure all video content aligns with the University's and Games Institute's brand guidelines and messaging.
  • Organise and maintain video files, footage, and archives for future use.
  • Manage multiple projects and work to agreed deadlines while maintaining high production standards.
  • Keep up to date with emerging trends, techniques, and technologies in video production and digital content creation

 

Skills and experience

  • Experience filming live events, conferences, lectures or presentations.
  • Knowledge of motion graphics, animation or visual effects.
  • Experience creating promotional videos, trailers or showreels.
  • Familiarity with gameplay capture and screen-recording software such as OBS Studio.
  • Understanding of current social media trends and content strategies.
  • Interest in, or knowledge of, the games industry and gaming culture.
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud, including Premiere Pro, After Effects and Photoshop.
  • Experience analysing content performance and audience engagement metrics.
