Description
Role
The research assistant is expected to help the Impact Fund Research project entitled: “Future of Work for Organizational Professionals in the NHS: Navigating Opportunities and Uncertainty”. The aim of the project is to translate existing academic research on the work of healthcare ‘organizational professionals’ (such as operations, quality, finance, sustainability managers) into a set of actionable frameworks and educational material for NHS managers, executives and practitioners.
Duties and responsibilities
The research assistant is expected to support:
- ‘translating the existing content (originally aimed at an academic audience) for a practitioner NHS-based audience;
- developing dissemination material for social media;
- supporting with the planning and execution of dissemination events (i.e., workshop and webinars),
- collecting data related to dissemination events (e.g., observational note-taking)
- developing dissemination material for NHS staff and general public.
Skills and experience
Core skills:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Research literacy in areas related to workforce development, leadership and/or human resource management
- Creativity in content creation and audience engagement
- Ability to work collaboratively with researchers and stakeholders
- Ability to manage tasks independently
- Interest in healthcare service innovation, with emphasis on workforce development, and leadership of middle management (‘organizational professionals’)
- Enthusiasm for developing relationships with, and content for, NHS staff
- Knowledge of NHS dynamics and organization
Qualification:
- MSc or similar-level; PhD or similar qualifications (e.g., DBA) will be prioritized
Desirable experience:
- Prior experience with research or work in NHS or healthcare-related organizations (England or internationally)
- Experience using content creation tools for dissemination of knowledge to industry, health-and-care

Combination , primarily on campus
