Description
Role
The Catering Assistant plays a vital role in delivering exceptional catering services, ensuring that all food and beverage offerings meet the highest standards of quality and presentation. This position involves working closely with the catering team to prepare, serve, and manage food for a local independent School.
Duties and responsibilities
- To be responsible for the safe preparation and service of all meals and refreshments
- To ensure that all food to be served is correctly and conspicuously labelled with description, allergen content and relative dietary requirement information in accordance with relevant food labelling legislation.
- To identify and manage all pupils with allergies and dietary requirements to ensure they are given the appropriate meal in accordance with the policy and procedures of the relevant site.
- To ensure the café is prepared and ready to open on time daily
- To ensure the café is cleaned and maintained to a high standard during and after service.
- To comply with Statutory Regulations pertaining to the safe and hygienic operation of the kitchen as directed by the Front of House Manager and Lead Chef, including the maintenance of records.
- To ensure the physical security of the café at all times.
- To carry out any other reasonable requests by the Event Operations Manager
- To attend training as and when required to do so. To actively partake in periodic Allergen meetings.
- To support the catering team across campus when required.
Skills and experience
- Experience of working in a commercial catering environment or similar for at least 1 year
- Food Safety Training at Level 2
- An appreciation of cleanliness and hygiene standards
- A basic knowledge of Health & Safety at Work requirements.
- Experience of working in a commercial catering environment or similar for at least 1 year
