Role
We are seeking an experienced Curriculum Records Data Analyst to join our curriculum data team. The successful candidate will play a key role in cleansing, restructuring and transforming large course and module datasets into accurate, consistent, and reliable formats for the university’s new Curriculum Management System.
The role is likely to include activities such as: restructuring curriculum data to align with a new Academic Model; cleansing and standardising large datasets; ensuring that data complies with internal and external regulatory requirements; compiling reference data tables; liaising with academic departments to resolve data discrepancies; and identifying solutions to issues raised by stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will have at least two years’ experience of transforming HE student records data and/ or configuring student records systems such as SITS. You will need an excellent eye for detail, strong problem-solving skills, a pro-active mindset, and experience of establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders.

About the DepartmentEducation Operations is a newly established Directorate bringing together teams from Education Policy and Quality, Student Administrative Services, and Student Complaints and Academic Casework into a more connected and integrated professional services function.
Our focus is on supporting excellent education delivery across the University by reducing complexity, improving consistency, strengthening governance and creating more seamless experiences for students and staff. We work across the academic lifecycle, from curriculum and assessment through to student records, casework, quality assurance and academic governance.
The Directorate is being designed around end-to-end services, user-centred design, continuous improvement and smarter use of data and systems. This creates a unique opportunity for colleagues to help shape new approaches, influence institutional strategy and contribute to major change programmes at one of the UK’s leading universities.
Duties and responsibilities
- Work with academic departments to establish which records need to be built into the Curriculum Management System
- Transform curriculum data into a new data structure that aligns with the Academic Model for the Curriculum Management System
- Cleanse curriculum data so that it is accurate, reliable and compliant with internal and external regulatory requirements
- Create and populate new curriculum data fields
- Compile accurate Reference Data tables for communication with the supplier
- Create ‘Core Course Datasets’ for each academic department
- Consult academic departments on the accuracy of their Core Course Datasets and proactively find solutions to queries
- Finalise the Core Course Datasets ready for upload into the new system by the supplier
- Support the migration of curriculum data from existing systems into the new Curriculum Management System
- Create and maintain clear, comprehensive documentation, including transformation logic, data definitions, and dependencies, to support ongoing maintenance.
Skills and experience
Essential
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience as a Curriculum Records Data Analyst or in a similar data-focused role.
- Proven experience in transforming Higher Education course and module data.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- A self-starter with a pro-active mindset.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Desirable
- Experience of designing and/ or configuring Curriculum Management Systems.
- Experience of designing and/ or configuring Student Records Systems (ideally SITS).
- Proficiency in data wrangling tools, such as Python (with Pandas, NumPy); R (dplyr, tidyr); SQL; Excel (Power Query).
- Familiarity with data visualisation tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker.
Location
Hybrid with 1-2 days a week at our office in Coventry.

Job start and end date - 30/06/26 -18/12/26
We are looking for full-time capacity until the end of the 2026 calendar year, but we are flexible on alternative arrangements, which might be less than full time over a slightly longer period or making two appointments to, in effect, complete this assignment as a job share.
