Description

Role

Ally for students (Alternative Formats) is a tool available in our VLEs (Moodle and Canvas) that fosters inclusive learning by improving the accessibility of learning materials, providing a range of alternative formats for students. For example, students may use the tool to convert PowerPoints to audio mp3 files. Find out how to access the Ally formats tool in Canvas and Moodle. https://city-uk-ett.libguides.com/c.php?g=692008&p=5354737

Background to the Project:
Ally for students (Alternative formats) is available across modules, where staff and students can download learning materials in different formats. This opportunity aims to gather student feedback on Alternative formats and how students use the tool for study, e.g. what are the perceived benefits of changing formats? What is best for what task? How might students combine it with other study tools? What digital skills are required to get the most out of the tool? How best can we promote the tool to students? The feedback will contribute to guidance pre-launch and may also be used in our promotion of the tool.

Project Scope:
The project will consider both credited taught modules and course-level (home) modules, exploring alternative format options, and how formats and other accessibility guidance e.g. from the Library, are best presented to students.
