Role

Unitemps are recruiting for two UCL Careers Open Day Ambassador (Current UCL Students Only). This role is for a June 18th start date and has a projected end date of June 27th 2026 (exact working dates below). This is a part-time role at 14.9 hours. Payment is set at £14.85 per hour + £2.78 holiday pay. This role will be campus based working (with 1 training call before).

Duties and responsibilities

UCL Careers will have a presence at the upcoming Open Days, on Friday 26th and Saturday 27th June. The Careers area will be hosted by staff in the team, as well as two Student Ambassadors.

We are looking for two Student Ambassadors to assist the Careers staff on the day by sharing the UCL Careers offering and their own experiences as a UCL student with prospective students and their guests.

Skills and experience

Job criteria and requirements:

- UCL undergraduate current student

- We are looking for confident students who are able to provide great customer service in a busy and dynamic environment

- Past, proven engagement with the Careers service is necessary

- Applicants must be enthusiastic and keen to promote UCL to prospective students

- Confidence in exchanging information about UCL Careers is essential

- The ability to answer a range of questions about how Careers helps students and takes into consideration what pressing issues visitors are enquiring about (a briefing will be provided)

- Be proactive in welcoming attendees to our stand when on the approach and to initiate conversations as part of the visitor journey

How to apply:

  • What are you doing/what have you done to enhance your skills and employability while studying at UCL (events, appointments, societies, volunteering, internships, part-time work, competitions, shadowing, etc.)?
  • Tell us about a time you've shared your experiences proactively and confidently with new people.
  • Tell us about any customer service experience you have/or experience of speaking and helping people in a busy setting.

Successful applicants must also undertake a right-to-work (RTW) check with Unitemps prior to starting work.

Thursday 18th June, 10am - 10:30am (briefing call)

Friday 26th June, 9:15am - 4:15pm

Saturday 27th June, 9:15am - 4:15pm

Additional information

This job will close for applications at 11.59pm on Thursday June 4th. Offers will be made based on applications alone, no interviews will be held.

The Careers area will be indoors during the Open Day, taking place in June 2026. Please anticipate hot weather - dress appropriately and carry water.

*If you have a full-time contract of employment with UCL, you are not able to work through UCL Unitemps at the same time.
