Description
Role
We are seeking to appoint a Research Assistant to support an interdisciplinary research project exploring experiences within pregnancy, maternity care, and forensic science practice.
This project focuses on an important and under-researched area: the experiences of women/pregnant people in forensic science, a field in which approximately 70% of practitioners are female. The study aims to better understand gendered experiences, roles, responsibilities, and professional challenges, particularly where these intersect with pregnancy and maternity care.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with colleagues at Canterbury Christ Church University, the Forensic Capability Network, and partner Higher Education Institutions and Chairs of Regional Forensic Science Networks. The role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to impactful research at the intersection of forensic science, health, and gender equity.
Project Significance:
This research will contribute to a growing body of work addressing gendered experiences in professional practice, with a particular focus on how female forensic practitioners navigate professional responsibilities alongside pregnancy and maternity-related issues.
