Role

We are seeking a proactive and flexible Programme Administrator to join our team supporting undergraduate taught programmes at the University of Leicester. The successful candidate will work collaboratively within an administrative team to ensure smooth and efficient support for course delivery from enquiry through to graduation, reflecting the University’s commitment to inspiring education and student success.

The postholder will be a key point of contact for students, academic staff, and external stakeholders, providing timely and accurate administrative support in a friendly and inclusive environment aligned with the University’s values of inclusivity and impact.

Duties and responsibilities
You will be responsible for supporting the administration of taught degree programmes, handling tasks such as dealing and resolving queries from students and academic staff, overseeing the administration of the assessment procedures, ensuring students receive feedback and marks for assessed work in a timely manner, supporting panels and boards and liaison with external examiners.

 
Alongside core programme support, you will be expected to have a flexible approach to work and work as part of a multifunctional team.

Skills and experience
The ideal candidate will have experience of accurate data input and record-keeping and demonstrable experience working as an administrator in a busy environment, underpinned by excellent IT skills including Microsoft Office. A level of education equivalent to A level standard is essential. 

 
Strong oral and written communication skills are required to engage effectively with staff and students, together with excellent attention to detail and organisational and clerical capabilities. You will be able to work collaboratively as part of a team while also demonstrating independence and initiative in your work. A willingness to be flexible in duties and adapt to changing priorities is essential in order to maintain a high quality of service, reflecting the University’s emphasis on student-centred support and service excellence.
 
Experience of working in higher education and a working knowledge of university system such as SITS, CMIS are desirable but not essential.
