Description
Role
We are looking for a motivated and digitally capable Heriot-Watt student to take ownership of a specialist data project within the Information Governance team. This is a rare opportunity to work independently on a real technical challenge, demonstrate your database skills, and deliver a project with real operational impact.
Duties and responsibilities
It is anticipated this role will be divided into two phases. The first phase is a short planning assignment of around seven hours to put together a proposed plan and timeframe for completing the project. And then a second phase to carry out the extraction of all relevant records and transferring them to the new storage location. It is essential that each stage of the project is documented in a clear and structured way.
Skills and experience
Essential
- Strong digital capability with relational databases
- Awareness of data protection principles
- Experience with data processing and manipulation
- Excellent written communication
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Knowledge or experience with DataEase (legacy database software)
