Role
To assist, support and ‘shadow’ the Newham Plays Creative Producer/Project Lead in helping organise, arrange, and ensure the smooth running of the seventh instalment in the critically acclaimed Newham Plays series: Three Ghosts of Silvertown. The show will be produced at the Tate Institute, Silvertown, in East London. The successful intern will work closely with a professional creative team made up of writer, director, designer, actors, stage management, chaperones, young people.
Duties and responsibilities
- Initiating and overseeing a social media marketing/publicity campaign.
- Liaising with Young Person's Play Co-ordinator in ensuring successful engagement with identifying and sourcing local young people for the play.
- Supporting the show’s Director and Producer in arranging auditions/casting and liaising with agents.
- Supporting/assisting the Producer in arranging contracts/paperwork for creative personnel.
- Identifying and setting up appropriate and best practice online ticketing system for the show, i.e. scaled donations.
Skills and experience
Essentials:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Organisational/time management skills, with a good eye for detail.
- Knowledge of and an interest in the Arts.
- Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, meet deadlines and manage a number of projects at the same time and with accuracy.
- Excellent IT skills, chiefly social media/digital content creation.
- Administrative skills and ability to work to budgets.
- Experience of arts administration/promotion.
- Living in London
