Role

This role is an exciting opportunity for a student interested in digital learning, online education, and content creation. You will work as part of the Centre for Academic Practice Enhancement (CAPE), alongside a Senior Academic Developer, to co-design and develop digital learning resources that support students and staff. 

You will contribute to a defined digital project focused on improving MyLearning (Moodle) course pages, gaining hands-on experience of how online learning environments are designed and developed. You will learn how to create engaging digital content and how your work can directly enhance the student experience. 

You will receive a structured induction, guidance on relevant digital tools and approaches, and ongoing support throughout the internship, with opportunities to shape your experience around your interests and future goals. 

Duties and responsibilities

During the internship, you will: 

  • Co-lead a digital project to improve a set of MyLearning (Moodle) course pages, with guidance and support from a Senior Academic Developer 

  • Co-design and improve blended learning templates and online learning activities as part of this project 

  • Work with a Senior Academic Developer to plan, test, and refine your project outputs 

  • Test and refine your designs based on feedback and review 

  • Document your work and contribute to guidance related to your project or examples that can be shared more widely 

Skills and experience

Essential: 

  • An interest in online learning platforms such as MyLearning (MOODLE)  

  • Curiosity about teaching, learning, and student experience in higher education 

  • Some experience or confidence using digital tools to create content 

  • Good communication skills (written and spoken) 

  • A collaborative approach and willingness to work with others 

  • Good organisation and ability to manage your time and meet deadlines 

Desirable:  

  • Experience studying in Health, Education, Law, Science or Technology subjects 

  • Experience creating videos, graphics, or other digital content
