Description
Role
The role holder will support research on a project evaluating the justice response to cross-border trafficking from Bulgaria and Romania to six Western European destination countries. This will include reviewing interview transcripts, conduct qualitative coding, and support analysis and reporting.
Start Date: 15/06/2026
End Date: 09/09/2026
Working Hours: To be arranged directly by the Hiring Manager, between 7 and 36.25 hours per week, with a maximum of 250 approved hours
Pay Rate: £17.02 per hour
Holiday Pay Rate: £2.05 per hour
Location: Highfield House, Rights Lab, University Park
Duties and responsibilities
- Meeting regularly with supervisors to plan and undertake research
- Conducting research activities in line with prescribed research protocols
- Reviewing transcripts of key informant and survivor interviews
- Qualitative thematic coding of key informant and survivor interviews
- Supporting analysis of key informant and survivor interviews
- Supporting report drafting
Skills and experience
- Current PhD or postgraduate student, demonstrating satisfactory academic progress as defined by the candidate's academic supervisor (if applicable)
- Excellent time management and ability to work to a deadline
- Professional manner and strong communication skills
- Experience conducting qualitative research
- Strong eye for detail
- Experience using NVivo qualitative analysis software (Desirable)
- Language skills in any project language such as, Bulgarian, Romanian, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Dutch, Indonesian and Filipino (Desirable)
