Description

Role

The Student Success and Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (SSEDI) team, in collaboration with the Students’ Union, works to support students from a wide range of backgrounds across the University. The team is committed to ensuring all students have access to a positive, inclusive, and enriching university experience, with a focus on reducing barriers, amplifying student voice, and improving outcomes for underrepresented groups.

We are seeking an APP Student Advocate to represent and amplify the voice of adult mature learners at the University of Surrey. This role is centred on insight, influence, and advocacy, ensuring that the lived experiences of students from under-represented groups meaningfully inform university policy, services, and strategic priorities.

As a Student Advocate, you will work in partnership with SSEDI and wider university stakeholders to shape institutional approaches, rather than lead on delivery of events or programmes. This is an opportunity to contribute to systemic change while developing skills in consultation, representation, and strategic thinking.

£12.71 per hour.

£1.53 per hour holiday pay.

Around 2 hours per week* for 12 months from Monday 8 June 2026 until Sunday 6 June 2027.

*Flexible working hours. 2 hours based on expected average weekly commitment.

The deadline to apply is 23:59 on Sunday 7th June.

We reserve the right to close this advertisement early if we receive a high volume of suitable applications.
