Description
Role
The successful candidate will work with an academic supervisor and with an industry supervisor to undertake a research project related to aerospace and engineering.
Start Date: 22/06/2026
End Date: 11/09/2026
Working Hours: 35 Hour per week, Monday to Friday, 5 days a week, typically 9am - 4:45pm.
Pay Rate: £13.45 per hour
Holiday Pay Rate: £1.62 per hour
Location: Energy Technologies Building, Jubilee Campus, University of Nottingham
Duties and responsibilities
- Model creation, validation, methodology and presentation of results
- Presenting and reporting key findings
- Feasibility studies
- Working alongside an academic and industrial supervisor, as well as working with a team of researchers and administrative staff
- Attending meetings
- Literature searches
- Analyses and qualitative assessments to recommend areas of future focus
- Design and execution of test programmes
- Data analysis
- The outcome of the project will be a report detailing the findings of the placement, as well as a poster presented to industry and academia as part of an end-of-placement event
Skills and experience
- This post is suitable for BEng/BSc or MEng/MSc students, on the second, third or fourth year of their programme
- Students from an Engineering or Science programme are preferred for the placements
