We are seeking a research assistant to support the Medical Cannabis (@MedCanProject) research team, based in the Criminology department and part of the Centre for the study of Crime, Criminalisation and Social Exclusion at LJMU.
You will support data collection on a new study 'Seeing Stigma' that uses creative qualitative methods to evidence the experiences of people prescribed cannabis. The findings will generate important evidence to influence policy change, organisational practice and reduce stigma in relation to cannabis medicines.

Duties and responsibilities
- Undertake qualitative data collection activities under the direction of the project team
- Recruit study participants, including liaison with research participants and administration of participant information and consent forms.-Assist with anonymisation, organisation and secure storage
- Maintain accurate research records
- Ensure research activities comply with ethical standards, data protection and other university policies
- Assist with other research-related duties commensurate with the grade
Skills and experience
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant social science subject (e.g. criminology, sociology) or health-related fields, or equivalent (essential)
- Postgraduate degree in a relevant subject (desirable)Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both in writing and verbally.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good IT skills, including standard Microsoft packages (Outlook, Word, Excel, OneDrive)
