Description
Role
We are looking for a Kitchen Porter to join our busy department catering for university clientele and conference delegates.
To work alongside existing kitchen staff to carry out daily kitchen activities, including aiding with deliveries and goods received to distributing to various outlets.
Assisting to maintain our 5-star food hygiene rating and general cleaning duties within a busy kitchen.
Either full time shifts or part time available between 6am-2pm or 10am-6pm, mostly Monday - Friday.
This is only a temporary role, for 2 months, start date ASAP. Potential for work within department after 2 months, subject to availability.
Duties and responsibilities
- Monitor and remove recycling refuse
- Maintain cleanliness in the Kitchen, washing up and tidying
- Replenish all cleaning materials and disposable protective clothing as required
- Report any maintenance issues with the catering office to ensure that repairs are carried out as needed
- Assist with deliveries around campus on foot
- Assist with the maintenance and cleaning of catering vehicles when required
- Help with basic food preparation when requested
- Ensure all paperwork is completed as and when required with deliveries
- Any other reasonable requests
Skills and experience
Previous hospitality experience desirable but not required.
Role requires some heavy lifting and walking.
