Role
At UoN Sport, we are committed to ensuring all students can engage in sport and physical activity throughout their studies. The Active Living programme provides students with opportunities to help facilitate friendships, feel a part of the Nottingham community and stay active. Active Living ambassadors will be allocated a set number of Halls which they will be responsible for throughout the academic year. You’ll be required to actively go into your designated halls and speak to residents independently with the primary goal of raising awareness of opportunities for engagement and promoting key messages to students living in Halls. We are recruiting a number of Active Living ambassadors who will work alongside the project lead to: * Represent the voices of students living in Halls * Raise awareness of the Active Living programme * Promote key initiatives, campaigns and awareness days to provide students with a holistic offer that has something available for everyone.
Start Date: 31/08/2026
End Date: 30/07/2027Working Hours: 6-8 hours per week, to be arranged flexibly with the manager directly
Pay Rate: £12.71 per hour
Holiday Pay Rate: £1.53 per hour
Location: University Park and Jubilee Campus

- Feedback and Insight
- Gathering feedback from students living in Halls
- Analysing engagement data of students living in Halls, and using this data to plan appropriate activations Programme Promotion
- Working with the Active Living programme lead to raise awareness of certain initiatives and programmes at specific times of year
- Raising awareness of the Active Living programme
- Collaborating with Residential Experience Officers and Assistants to maximise engagement Event Delivery
- Supporting with larger Active Living events to ensure positive student experience
Skills and experience
- Study Status - Current undergraduate or postgraduate student at the University of Nottingham (Essential)
- Minimum of one year remaining on course (Essential)
- Knowledge - Awareness of relevant university networks to support partnership working (Essential)
- Knowledge of the benefits of being physically active (Essential)
- Lived in University Halls for at least one year (Desirable)
- Experience - Awareness of Active Living and UoN Sport programmes (Desirable) Skills- Strong inclusive communication skills, with the ability to adapt to different audiences (Essential)
- Confident IT user, including Microsoft Office and design tools (Essential)
- People person – this role will require you to speak to lots of new people independently (Essential)
- Confidence engaging with audiences – sometimes you will have to speak to large groups of students (Essential)
- Attributes - Passion for sport and physical activity (Essential)
- Creative and innovative mindset (Essential)
- Strong collaborator with the ability to work independently (Essential)
