Description
Role
The incoming Moves App ambassador would work alongside the Participation Sport Officer to:
- Create, implement and evaluate physical activity challenges on a weekly and monthly basis
- Troubleshoot and provide good quality customer service to users via email
- Identify trends and display this insight in a meaningful and useful manner to the Participation Sport Officer
- Promote the app in a positive light to the university community and train other ambassadors to promote the app at university events

Working Hours: Average 6-8 hours per week - arranged internally to suit the business need
Pay Rate: £12.71 per hour
Holiday Pay Rate: £1.53 per hour
Location: David Ross Sports Village, UoN / Remote

Duties and responsibilities
- Administrative and Reporting Duties
- Create, implement and evaluate physical activity challenges on a weekly and monthly basis
- Analyse and identify trends in physical activity and app engagement, including challenges and rewards
- Display this insight in a meaningful and useful manner to the Participation Sport Officer and support with monthly and termly reporting
- Communicate feedback and known issues to the Participation Sport Officer and app operating system (OpenPlay)
- Identify areas of improvement for user experience and display these in a meaningful manner to the Participation Sport Officer and app operating system (OpenPlay) Marketing and Communications
- Troubleshoot and provide good quality customer service to users via email
- Send promotional and notification emails
- Promote the Moves App at university events, including Welcome Fairs and UoN Sport events Organise promotional tours around university campuses for the Moves App
Skills and experience
- Current undergraduate or postgraduate student at the University of Nottingham (Essential)
- Minimum of one year remaining on course (Essential)
- Good Microsoft Excel knowledge (Essential)
- Data analysis and interpretation (Essential)
- Understand and appreciate barriers to sport and physical activity (Essential)
- Understand the functionality of the app and be an active user (Essential)
- Analysing and interpreting data and presenting it in a meaningful manner (Desirable)
- Customer service experience (Desirable)
- Strong inclusive communication skills, with the ability to adapt to different audiences (Essential)
- Microsoft Office, specifically Excel (Essential)
- Good customer service within written and verbal communication (Essential)
- Passion for inclusive sport and physical activity (Essential)
- Creative and innovative mindset (Essential)
- Strong collaborator with the ability to work independently (Essential)
- Well organised with effective time management skills (Essential)

Additional information
This role is for the 2026-27 academic year and employment post 2026-27 will be discussed with your line manager on a one-to-one basis.
