Role
Unitemps are looking for a short term Interim Head of Catering Operations.

 
Currently there is long term sickness with the head of food and drink.
 
This role is essential to ensuring the operations maintain and improve ready for the new academic year. The role will be required for a maximum of three months only

Duties and responsibilities

 

  • This temporary role will be responsible for leading the operational management of all university food and drink provisions and continuous development of the offering and responsible for the operational delivery, customer experience, compliance, continuous improvement, and support to student experience in line with Campus experience and the university objectives and strategic goals.
  • To champion high quality service standards and embed standard specification across all service areas.
  • Continuously enhance all aspects of catering, retail, and hospitality services, developing their effectiveness and service quality, and ensuring operations evolve to meet changing needs.
  • To develop and implement a marketing and promotional activity plan and support with marketing and communication teams, measuring the impact on customer satisfaction, usage levels and other agreed success criteria.
  • Ensure effective use of EPOS and other systems and processes to drive planning for commercial improvement and efficient management of resources
  • To line manage direct reports and to lead the services teams, overseeing all HR processes, ensuring effective service delivery through management, support, development, and leadership.
  • To lead and direct the provision of food and drink services to maximise resources, deliver consistently high quality and achieve targets, providing expert advice and leaderships.
  • To be responsible for the productive, updating and monitoring of standard operating procedures for the food and drink facilities. ,
To ensure due diligence in Health and Safety and food safety and champion staff wellbeing across all relevant areas within and outside the department.

Skills and experience
Management experience in a similar food and drink environment

Experience in retail, hospitality or catering at a similar level
Resilient 
Forward thinking
Experience of producing reports including financial reporting
