Role
We are recruiting students to be a part of an  iNetZ+ GRI.  sponsored student placement scheme that enables student to gain practical, commercial, and professional experience aligned with research projects. The placement forms part of an iNetZ+ GRI sponsored student placement scheme and enables the student to gain practical, commercial, and professional experience aligned with research projects.

Please be aware, applicants should be from a relevant academic background and have sufficient level of skill as outlined in the skills/experience section below. 
 
 

Duties and responsibilities

1. Apply core mechanical and/or process engineering principles to real-world challenges.

2. Contribute to research projects, which may include:

  • Design of process and equipment
  • Product or service development
  • Research and technical evaluation
  • Instrumentation and control
  • Construction materials and methods
  • Computer applications in engineering 
3. Support project management and administrative functions where appropriate.        
 
4. Assist in technical and economic evaluation of processes and systems.  

Skills and experience
Essential

  • Completion of relevant academic stage prior to placement.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professional attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable
  • Experience with engineering software (e.g. CAD, simulation tools).
  • Prior internship or practical engineering experience.
  • Awareness of commercial and project management principles.
