Role
This role supports the coordination and delivery of reasonable adjustment arrangements for undergraduate student examinations across the Faculty of Arts. The post holder will work with departmental teams, the central Exams Office and other relevant services to ensure that University‑approved reasonable adjustments are implemented accurately, consistently and on time. The role contributes to inclusive assessment practice, regulatory compliance and the effective operation of University examination processes.
Duties and responsibilities
- Coordinate the schedule and implementation of University approved reasonable adjustment arrangements for examinations for Faculty of Arts students.
- Act as a central point of contact between departments, Central Exams, timetabling and other professional services teams.
- Ensure that reasonable adjustment requirements are accurately communicated and recorded ahead of examination periods.
- Support departments with complex or non-standard reasonable adjustment cases, escalating issues as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate records relating to reasonable adjustments and examination arrangements, handling sensitive information appropriately.
- Assist with quality assurance checks to ensure examination arrangements align with approved adjustments.
- Contribute to the development and documentation of Faculty procedures relating to inclusive assessment and examinations.
- Respond to queries from departmental staff regarding reasonable adjustments and examination processes.
Skills and experience
- Experience of working in an administrative or student services role, ideally within a higher education environment.
- Experience of examinations and/or assessment administration.
- Familiarity with reasonable adjustments or supporting students with specific requirements.
- Strong organisational and scheduling skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
- Confident working with a range of stakeholders across departments and central services.
