Strawberry Field, the iconic site managed by The Salvation Army and immortalised by John Lennon and the Beatles, is a visitor attraction at the heart of Liverpool tourism. The centre offers an authentic experience with a strong commitment to responsible tourism running central to every aspect of its operation.

Alongside our commercial offerings, including a visitor exhibition, the Imagine More Café, a gift shop and beautifully designed gardens, the centre is also home to the Steps to Work Programmes.

These initiatives support members of the community who have learning difficulties or face barriers to employment, providing trainees with valuable guidance and opportunities to access meaningful work. The site also hosts the Fresh Expression Team, who deliver a range of groups and activities designed to engage, support, and uplift the local community, including individuals with additional support needs

Duties and responsibilities
For the Steps to Work Programme, we typically run four cohorts per year, with an average of 12–14 trainees in each. As a result, recruiting new trainees is a detailed and resource-intensive process, requiring significant time and coordination.

We are therefore seeking support to assist with this process, including:
  • Conducting competitor research to understand how other providers promote their programmes and recruit participants.
  • Reviewing our current practices to identify opportunities for streamlining and improving efficiency.
  • Recommending strategies to help attract new referrals.
  • Providing support with the administrative aspects of the recruitment process.
  • Attending open days and recruitment events to support delivery and engagement
