Description

Role

We’re currently seeking a talented and professional photographer to support us with an upcoming in- person conference. This opportunity is ideal for a registered University of Salford student or University of Salford alumni looking to build their portfolio and gain more practical experience.

The in-person conference has been planned by the co-chairs of Access Salford to discuss the theme of ‘From Access to Belonging: Embedding Disability Support and Inclusion’ from both a student and a colleague perspective. There will be keynote speakers as well as several workshops throughout the day, covering research, teaching/ education, and professional service backgrounds.

The conference will be publicised to staff and students at Salford, as well as across interested groups across Salford and Greater Manchester, and at other higher education institutions across the UK. It will also be publicised via the Disability Leadership Network associated with the Snowdon Trust and the National Association of Disabled Staff Networks (NADSN).

The aim of the conference is to attract both colleagues and students from Salford and beyond, so that we can initiate fruitful discussions around how we can better embed disability support and create a university where disabled students and staff feel they belong at Salford and across UK higher education institutions more broadly.

We will be discussing actions that both staff and students can take independently and collaboratively. We also seek to offer intersectional perspectives and representation across the higher education sector to inspire other disabled, neurodivergent and chronically ill students and colleagues at Salford.
