Role
A Part 1 Architectural Assistant supports qualified architects and design teams in the development of architectural projects. This is an entry-level role for graduates who have completed a RIBA Part 1 qualification and are seeking practical experience in architectural practice.
Duties and responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of design proposals, drawings, and models
- Produce architectural drawings using software such as AutoCAD and SketchUp
- Support project teams in concept development and technical design stages
- Prepare presentation materials (visuals, 3D renders, mood boards)
- Conduct site analysis, research, and planning studies
- Assist with planning applications and building regulation submissions
- Attend site visits and team meetings when required
- Ensure work complies with UK building regulations and planning policies
Skills and experience
- Strong design and visual communication skills
- Proficiency in architectural software (e.g., AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite)
- Basic understanding of construction methods and materials
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and within a team
- Attention to detail and time management
