Role

We are offering a short internship aimed at a late-stage undergraduate or postgraduate student, which is linked to an ongoing collaboration with the UN Population Fund (UNFPA) and the Global Coalition for the Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights of Afrodescendent Women and Girls. The intern will support communications and administrative work connected to the coalition's committee, including an upcoming online policy event in May and initial preparations for an event in Nairobi, September 2026. 

This is an opportunity to gain experience working at the intersection of academic research, international policy, and public engagement, while contributing to work involving global partners, policymakers, and advocacy organisations.

Duties and responsibilities
To support communications and coordination linked to the UNFPA Global Coalition. Main duties may include: 

 
- Supporting the organisation of an online event related to the strategic plan. 
- Assisting with communications materials, including briefing notes and short summaries.
- Supporting administrative coordination with coalition partners and collaborators.
- Attending relevant meetings and assisting with note-taking or follow-up actions where appropriate. 

Skills and experience
Essential: 

 
Current postgraduate student, or final-year undergraduate
 
Excellent written communication skills.
 
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
 
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
 
Interest in Black maternal health, reproductive justice, or the legacies of slavery and colonialism.
 
DesirableExperience:
 
Producing communications content (e.g., blogs, social media, or briefing materials).Experience supporting events or collaborative projects.
