Role
*Ringfenced to LJMU students and recent graduates*
The Faculty of Health, Innovation, Technology and Science (HITS) has a wide range of specialist technical facilities, laboratories, equipment, and expertise that support teaching, research, and innovation. These facilities have significant potential to support external engagement, industry collaboration, and income generation, particularly across the Liverpool City Region priority growth sectors.
Duties and responsibilities
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
• Support the development of a centralised digital presence for HITS technical facilities, including webpage content, capability summaries, and supporting materials
• Gather, collate, and organise information on technical equipment, facilities, and capabilities in collaboration with technical and academic staff
• Assist in the creation of high quality digital content, including brochures, images, and case study style summaries for internal and external audiences
• Support the establishment and maintenance of a HITS technical facilities LinkedIn presence in line with Corporate Communications guidance
• Help develop and document clear processes for external engagement and enquiry triaging, working closely with RIS, Horizons, and relevant faculty staff
• Support consistency in how facilities usage, access, and costings are communicated, aligning with SISO and GAP systems where appropriate
• Contribute to networking and engagement activities with internal teams
• Maintain accurate records of facility information and engagement activity to support reporting and future development
Skills and experience
Qualifications:
A-levels in science or similar qualifications
•Working towards or holding a relevant degree or professional qualification in a related area (e.g. science, engineering, business, communications)
Some but not all of the following::
• Experience of working in an administrative, coordination, communications, or project support role
• Experience of gathering information from multiple sources and presenting it in a structured format
• Strong written communication skills, with the ability to present technical or complex information clearly and accessibly
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, including technical staff, academics, and professional services
• Competent digital skills, including use of Microsoft Office and online platform
• Experience working in a higher education, research, technical, or innovation focused environment.
• Exposure to commercial, enterprise, or external engagement activities
• Experience using web content management systems or social media platforms in a professional context
• Understanding of marketing, engagement, or promotional activity
• Confidence engaging with external audiences or partners
