THE ROLE
On behalf of our Leicestershire Client, we are seeking to recruit a Heritage Event Co-Curator. We are looking for a candidate who is creative and enthusiastic to co-curate an exciting new event as part of the Heritage Open Days Festival 2026.
This is a unique chance to shape how local history is presented to younger audiences by developing an engaging and interactive event focused on the fascinating story of the Symington Corset Factory. The event will run twice during the festival on Saturday 12 and Saturday 19 September 2026.
The role is flexible and part time; to be worked from Mid May 2026 to September 2026 and there is approximately 15 days over 4 the months, which equates to a minimum 1 day per week.

Duties and responsibilities
- Event Development: Design and develop a heritage event aimed at young people, from concept through to delivery
- Creative Curation: Collaborate with the museum team to create interactive and engaging activities and workshops
- Promotion: Help promote the event using social media, digital platforms, and creative marketing ideas
- Event Delivery: Support and co-lead the event on the day, engaging visitors and facilitating activities
- Evaluation: Gather visitor feedback and produce a short report with insights and recommendations
Skills and experience
- A passion for heritage, arts, and creativity, especially in engaging young people (18–30)
- Strong communication skills and confidence working with diverse audiences
- Creative thinking and fresh ideas for making history relevant and fun
- Experience (paid or voluntary) in events, heritage, or creative projects is desirable
- Confidence using social media and digital tools for promotion
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
