Role

The role involves working closely with Professor David Chalcraft of the department of sociology in providing working English translations of selected travel and literary writitngs of the German sociology Leopold von Wiese. The person appointed will work independently on providing translations for Professor Chalcraft and advising on technical/grammatical features of the text that would be of interest to readers/historians.
Duties and responsibilities
the main duties are the provision of working translations in English of selected literary/travel texts in German written between 1900 and 1930.
Skills and experience
Native knowledge of German, and excellent command of English with proven experience of successful translation of academic/literary German into English.
