Role
The Admissions Department is looking for friendly, enthusiastic staff to join the team during the University’s Clearing period. As a front-line Clearing Operator, you will be the first person many applicants speak to, helping them explore their options and secure a place on an undergraduate course starting in September 2026 at Canterbury Christ Church University.

Admissions is committed to providing a welcoming, supportive and informative experience for every applicant. We work closely with colleagues across the University to offer clear advice, answer questions and guide students through each step of their application journey.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Respond to incoming Clearing enquiries via telephone, email, webforms and social media, ensuring applicants’ details are accurately recorded and their enquiry is referred to the appropriate academic or Admissions colleague.
  • Manage all Clearing enquiries in a timely, professional and supportive manner, ensuring applicants receive clear, accurate and helpful responses.
  • Support the confirmation of student offers, assisting applicants through the next stages of the Clearing process.
  • Assist with the checking and verification of qualifications as part of the registration and enrolment process.
  • Maintain high standards of data accuracy and record-keeping to support University reporting requirements and UKVI compliance.

Skills and experience
We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated team players with excellent customer service skills, who can contribute positively to the wider team while also working confidently on their own initiative. A high level of attention to detail and strong communication skills are essential, alongside the ability to quickly learn and apply knowledge of University and sector-specific procedures, structures and regulatory requirements.

The successful candidates will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, able to manage pressure effectively while maintaining a professional, courteous and friendly approach with applicants and colleagues at all times.
