Role

We are seeking to hire a student assistant for a project by the “Pedagogies of Public and Community Engagement” Learning Circle project. The learning circle is shared by the Warwick Institute of Engagement and the Warwick International Higher Education Academy. You will primarily work with staff members of the learning circle steering group. The project collates a handbook of modules and co-curricular activities which involve students in public and community engagement activities, as well as explanatory content. In this role, you will assist with the coordination of authors and contributions to the handbook. You will also assist with the creation and production of the handbook, including editorial tasks and the collation of entries into the handbook’s final design. Additionally, you will take a proactive role in encouraging reflection on the project and contribute actively to team meetings. Given the strict deadline for the project, we are looking for an assistant with excellent time management and communication skills.

  • This assignment will be expected to start on 4/5/26 or shortly thereafter until 30/6/26 with a maximum of 40 hours total across the duration of the project.
  • This role will be a combination of on campus and working from home. Most of the work can be completed from home (in the UK). 

Duties and responsibilities

  • Participating actively in meetings of the project
  • Assisting with organising the contributors to the handbook
  • Assisting with the creation and production of the handbook
  • Applying a range of IT skills

Skills and experience

  • IT skills: Experience with Microsoft Office, especially Word and Outlook. Experience with Canva is highly desirable, alternatively the willingness to learn the tool
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • An organised approach and ability to adhere to deadlines
  • Excellent team working skills
  • A professional attitude
