Role

Our client is a growing UK insurance brokerage with a modern, in-house development team building real systems that directly impact the business — from pricing engines and fraud detection to automation and AI-driven tools.

We’re looking for a Graduate/Junior Software Developer eager to learn, build, and grow. You don’t need years of experience — what matters most is your attitude, curiosity, and willingness to develop your skills.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll be working on live systems from day one, supported by experienced developers who will help you grow into a confident, capable engineer.

Duties and responsibilities

What You’ll Be Working On

  • Real-world PHP applications used across the business.
  • Internal systems that support underwriting, pricing, and operations.
  • Automation tools that interact with third-party insurance platforms (APIs and browser automation)
  • Converting business rules and rating logic into working code.
  • Exposure to AI-assisted workflows and data-driven systems

What You’ll Learn

  • Writing clean, maintainable PHP code using object-oriented principles.
  • Working with databases and writing SQL queries- Understanding how large systems are structured (MVC frameworks)
  • Debugging and improving existing codebases.
  • How APIs and integrations work in real environments.
  • How business logic (like pricing rules) is translated into code

What We’re Looking For

  • A recent graduate (or equivalent) in a relevant field.
  • Basic understanding of PHP or similar programming languages.
  • Some exposure to databases or SQL.
  • Interest in backend development and problem-solving.
