Description

Role
We are looking for friendly and engaging students who can share their lived experience of privately rented student accommodation with peers at an accommodation options event in April 2026. You will need to feel confident speaking to students about your experiences, actively listen to concerns or questions and provide constructive guidance based on your personal reflections.

Please note that you will need to have lived in a privately rented accommodation or HMO (house of Multiple Occupation) alongside other students to have relevant experience for this position.

Duties and responsibilities

We are holding an event for students to explore their housing options for the coming year/s of university. Alongside other students and staff you will represent the student experience of privately rented accommodation, sharing your reflections on:
  • The pros and cons of living in privately rented accommodation
  • Liaising with a landlord or estate agent/arranging viewings/reading and signing a tenancy contract
  • Setting up or contributing to shared bills or household ‘pots’
  • Managing household tasks/sharing responsibilities
  • The difference between student accommodation/commuting to university

Skills and experience
We would like you to be honest and open about your experience, providing guidance to your peers who may be considering this as an option for the coming year.

This role may also involve speaking to camera about your experience of privately rented accommodation for the generation of resources which may be shared internally, added to student facing CCCU webpages and/or be used on CCCU social media platforms.
