Role
Join our dynamic team and play a pivotal role in delivering high quality engagement opportunities for the global WBS alumni community. As someone who is confident and skilled in organising events, you will take the lead in managing and delivering our flagship MBA Conference – an inspiring, high profile event that brings together MBA alumni, industry experts, and leaders from around the world. You will also manage the coordination and delivery of the MBA alumni modules programme – a key element of the MBA alumni benefits and services package. Using your marketing, communications, organisational and negotiation skills, along with your ability to work collaboratively across interdisciplinary teams, you will deliver a sector leading suite of benefits for MBA alumni. If you thrive in a fast paced environment and enjoy bringing people, projects and ideas together, we’d love to hear from you.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across programme teams, academic departments and professional services to deliver high quality alumni engagement.
  • Develop and maintain effective systems and processes to support programme delivery, recommending and implementing improvements where needed.
  • Plan and deliver marketing and communications activity across multiple channels to promote assigned initiatives.
  • Prepare data, metrics and reports to support monitoring, evaluation and decision making.
  • Manage budgets within agreed parameters and ensure accurate financial administration.
  • Act as a first point of contact for alumni and stakeholders, providing a professional, timely and responsive service.
  • Support UK and international alumni events as required and undertake other duties appropriate to the role.

Skills and experience

  1. Educated to degree level, or with significant relevant experience in alumni engagement.
  2. Proven experience in organising and delivering events – ideally complex or large scale – with confidence in managing multiple logistical components.
  3. Strong communication and marketing skills, including experience creating clear, engaging content across a variety of channels.
  4. A professional, responsive and customer focused approach, with experience providing high quality service to stakeholders.

  6. Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across programme teams, academic departments, professional services and external partners.
  7. Confident negotiation skills, particularly when liaising with internal stakeholders such as programme teams.
  8. A proactive, solutions focused mindset, with the ability to work independently and use initiative.
  9. Experience developing and maintaining administrative systems and processes, with the ability to identify improvements and implement changes.
  10. Competence in data handling and report preparation, including the ability to interpret information and present insights clearly.
