Role

We are seeking a research associate to analyse quantitative data as part of the project ‘Embedding Researcher & Research Professional Wellbeing into Research Culture’:  Please click here for more information about the project.

The researcher will analyse numerical cross-sectional data (Time 1 of a longitudinal survey) to explore relationships between predictors of wellbeing and wellbeing outcomes for researchers and researcher professional staff in UK Higher Education, as well as intersectional differences in experiences.

In this role, you will work as part of small team, undertaking quantitative data analysis to contribute to the successful delivery of the project. You will be responsible for data cleaning, analysis, and interpretation, and support the write-up of key findings for reports and presentations.

  • This assignment will be 125 hours in total, 10 hours per week (to be discussed at interview).
  • This is a temporary assignment until 31/7/26.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Support survey dissemination and recruitment
  • Conduct quantitative analysis of cross-sectional survey data (Time 1)
  • Work with other researchers on the project team to interpret and write-up results.
  • Prepare concise written reports and presentations to communicate findings to the research team and wider research community.

Skills and experience

Essential Skills

  • Postgraduate researcher (PhD preferred) from any relevant field or discipline.
  • Strong statistical analysis skills, with the ability to independently analyse and interpret quantitative data.
  • Proficient in digital tools for quantitative data analysis (i.e., SPSS, R Studio).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to work to deadlines, produce high-quality outputs, and manage time effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively as part of the team.

Desirable Skills

  • Interested in wellbeing and improving research culture.
