Role
We are looking for a Catering Manager to manage and provide direction, guidance and support to staff in the provision of all elements of the catering services, ensuring they are able to carry out their roles efficiently and effectively. To create, maintain and enhance effective working relationships with staff working within their control, other staff within the Company, the Client and individuals in the external environment.

Duties and responsibilities

  • To manage and evaluate objectives and targets for the Contract and produce a Business Plan to ensure all requirements are met and the business developed. This will involve setting individual and overall objectives and targets for the contract and team.
  • To ensure objectives are met through effective planning, allocation and monitoring of work for self and teams.
  • To ensure effective recruitment, training and development of staff and ensure succession plans are in place for key positions on the contract.
  • To ensure effective management of staff within their control and ensure compliance with all relevant policies and procedures in relation to food safety, operations management, HR, recruitment, absence management, disciplinary procedures etc.
  • Create and Maintain a Healthy, Safe, and Secure Environment and ensure compliance with all Health & Safety legislation.
  • To effectively manage people and financial resources to maximise contract profitably, through efficient control procedures.
  • To produce accurate and timely reports and information as required by the client or the company.
  • To promote and develop Company services, keeping line manager informed of possible growth, development and business opportunities.
  • To maintain operations, meet and exceed agreed quality standards, creating necessary conditions for productivity. 
  • To also complete food safety audits.
  • Evaluate proposed and required changes to services identifying financial, personnel and operational performance implications prior to confirmation and implementation of service change

Skills and experience

  • 2- 5 years' experience in food production
  • Level 4 food safety
  • Clean and well presented
  • Pleasant and engaging team member
  • Ability to work unsupervised and lead operation in catering
  • Experience with Healthcare patient feedExperience with retail
  • Ability to support with menu planning
  • Ability to be flexible and ensure continual improvements through the department
  • Monitor and maintain good KPI scores
