Role

The Methods Hub initiative hosted by the Centre for Interdisciplinary Methodologies (CIM) is open to anyone interested in designing, developing, applying, collaborating, learning, and sharing interdisciplinary methods. CIM has longstanding experience working with a broad range of non-academic partners, including intergovernmental organisations, national, regional, and local governments, industry representatives, civil society organisations, grassroots movements, community groups, and individual citizens. Building on this expertise, the Methods Hub seeks to provide physical and virtual platforms to foster methods-driven, impact-focused activities and outcomes by uniting people and projects across Warwick, as well as regionally, nationally and internationally. The Methods Hub will be publicly launched in Summer 2026, in a one-day event bringing together attendees from across Warwick and CIM’s external partners. This role is for a research assistant to support the development and implementation of the Hub’s launch activities. 

At CIM, we have an extensive set of regional, national, and international partners with whom we already collaborate. They are from industry, government and the third sector. The Methods Hub is being developed as a space to enhance and develop these collaborations. This role, therefore, includes the establishment of new partnerships and consolidating of existing ones, establishing the Hub’s reputation and expanding its network. 

The Research Assistant - CIM Methods Hub will gain experience in: 

• assisting with the development of partnerships with our current and new collaborators across industry, government, international organisations, and the third sector; [DS1.1]

• organising and facilitating delivery of partnership activities as part of the Methods Hub Launch; 

• managing partnership communications 

Duties and responsibilities

• Join the Methods Hub team, to work together in developing the programme and activities for the launch event 

• Assisting with the development of partnerships with our current and new collaborators across industry, government, international organisations, and the third sector; [DS2.1]

• Be a point of contact for partners and attendees during the planning of the event 

• Support the running of the one-day launch event in June 2026 (date TBC)

• Support the evaluation of the launch event and follow-up activities 

Skills and experience

Essential: 

• Experience in developing, running and evaluating events within HE settings 

• A proven ability to communicate effectively with academic staff and external stakeholders 

• Flexible approach to work; excellent time management skills, demonstrated ability to multi-task

• Project coordination experience

• Experience with communications through emails, newsletters, social media

• Attention to detail

• Excellent written and verbal English skills

• Knowledge of interdisciplinary approaches in research

Location
Working from home with weekly meetings on campus and in person at the Methods Hub Launch event.
