Role
We are seeking to appoint two highly motivated Researchers at MSc or PhD level, with training in Circular Economy or closely related disciplines, to support academic colleagues within the School of Business at the University of Salford.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Conduct scoping reviews: Undertake structured literature reviews to map existing research, identify key themes, and highlight gaps in knowledge to inform ongoing projects.
  • Collect and analyse empirical data: Support the design and implementation of data collection activities (qualitative and/or quantitative), ensuring accuracy, rigour, and adherence to ethical standards, and contribute to data analysis and interpretation.
  • Organise and deliver stakeholder workshops: Plan, coordinate, and facilitate workshops with academic, industry, and policy stakeholders, ensuring effective engagement and clear documentation of outcomes.
  • Support research dissemination: Assist in the preparation of reports, academic papers, presentations, and other outputs, contributing to the effective communication of research findings.
  • Communicate scientific findings: Present complex information in a clear and accessible manner to both academic and non-academic audiences, supporting knowledge exchange and impact activities.

Skills and experience

  • Postgraduate training (MSc or PhD) in Circular Economy or a closely related discipline.
  • Experience conducting scoping or systematic literature reviews.
  • Proven ability to collect, manage, and analyse empirical data using qualitative and/or quantitative methods.
  • Experience supporting or delivering stakeholder engagement activities, such as workshops or collaborative events.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience disseminating research through reports, presentations, or academic outputs.
  • Ability to communicate complex scientific concepts clearly to both academic and non-academic audiences.
