Start date is not fixed and is to be negotiated upon the job role offer.
The Fundraising Assistant will be responsible for supporting the delivery of an exciting range of fundraising activities especially the updating of our CRM System for the future. You will provide excellent customer service to St. Joseph’s Hospice supporters and support the fundraising team.
Duties and responsibilities
- To provide administrative support to the Individual Giving Lead in terms of bring our CRM system, Donorflex, up to date, to allow us to upload new data.
- At the end of the project, we will be able to see who supports us, who plays the lottery and who volunteers within certain departments in the charity. By having all our data on one system, we can mail people in segments in the future, which will increase income.
- Update our main CRM system to enable better reporting in the future.
- To input and maintain accurate and up-to-date records of supporters, organisations and corporate bodies on our CRM systems in accordance with General Data Protection Regulations.
- Along with other members of the Fundraising team, facilitate the donor journey by providing administrative support at each stage of the journey as required e.g. as supporter moves from initial capture/donation to regular giver etc.
- Contact donors as and when required.

Skills and experience
Essential
We are looking for somebody who is highly motivated, has a calm attitude, can demonstrate initiative, and is a team player who can demonstrate a positive and flexible approach, along with an understanding of the charitable ethos and of working with volunteers. Willingness to be hands-on and ability to mix with all sections of the community
- Minimum of level 2 literacy and numeracy
- Excellent IT skills in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel
- Excellent customer care skills
- Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
Desirable
- Experience of using a CRM database
- Experience of hospice fundraising
- Understanding of GDPR and requirements of data protection
- Experience of using Donorflex
