Role
There are several parts to the internship. Prior to Summer Scientist Week itself you will be involved in organising the event,including helping with publicity, managing bookings, dealing with parent queries and preparing resources.
Start Date: 20/07/26
End Date: 07/08/26
Working Hours: 108.75 hours in total. 36.25 hours per week. The expected hours of work are from 8:00am - 4:15pm during Summer Scientist Week itself and from 9am-5:15pm on the other weeks
Pay Rate: £14.91 per hour
Holiday Pay Rate: £1.80 per hour
Location: Engineering and Science Learning Centre (ESLC), University Park Campus
Dress Code: Smart casual
Duties and responsibilities
- You will be involved in registering families and assisting with event organisation.
- From time to time, you may also be asked to help out with general volunteering which will include helping to run funfair themed activities with children, which aim to teach the children about psychology at the same time.
- Following Summer Scientist Week you will help in collating the event feedback data as well as data from questionnaires completed by the parents.
Skills and experience
We are looking for a candidate who has skills and experience working with families, and also with handling large datasets. They will gain experience of verbal and written communication with families, event management and data processing.
