Description

Role

As a BPVS assistant, you will mainly be administering the BPVS (standardised test of vocabulary comprehension) to children attending the event, as well as welcoming children and their parents. From time to time, you may also be asked to help out with general volunteering which will include helping to run funfair themed activities with children, which aim to teach the children about psychology at the same time. We also have colouring activities, face painting, pipe cleaner neurons, games and puzzles.

Start Date: 27/07/26

End Date: 31/07/26

Working Hours: 8:45am - 4:15pm during Summer Scientist Week

Pay Rate: £14.91 per hour

Holiday Pay Rate: £1.80 per hour

Location: Engineering and Science Learning Centre (ESLC), University Park Campus

Dress Code: Smart casual

 

 

Duties and responsibilities

Skills and experience

Genuine enthusiasm for and confidence in interacting with children and their families. 

  • A strong interest in developmental psychology. 
  • Meticulous attention to detail. 
  • A strong team-player. 
  • Confidence in using Psychopy (BPVS to be administered using Psychopy). 
  • Previous experience working with children or administering standardised psychological tests.
