Working in Digital Services (IT)
Duties and responsibilities
- Provide first-line IT support, resolving hardware, software, and network issues or escalating where needed
- Deliver on-site support across campus, including in teaching spaces, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations
- Process service requests such as account setup, access permissions, and software installations
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to IT knowledge base resources to support self-service
- Monitor and report system issues to help prevent disruptions and improve services
- Work collaboratively within a team to deliver a high standard of customer-focused IT support
Skills and experience
- Good digital literacy
- Ability to manage and prioritise multiple service requests, ensuring timely and accurate resolution
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and escalate appropriately when required
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team, contributing positively to shared goals and supporting colleagues
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail, including maintaining accurate service records
- Ability to work independently while knowing when to seek guidance
