Role
Our client is an ambitious, creative team producing audience-focused online and offline content. From virtual experiences to live, interactive productions, our work blends technology with storytelling to deliver high-end projects for leading brands.

They’re looking for a Developer / Creative Technologist based in our studio in Stoke city centre, with a passion for coding, creativity, and delivering exceptional digital experiences.
 
As a Developer / Creative Technologist, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering innovative digital experiences across a wide range of platforms and technologies.
You’ll work collaboratively within a team while remaining hands-on, building high-quality applications, interactive experiences, and technical solutions that bring creative ideas to life.

Duties and responsibilities
1. Software Development & Technical Contribution

  • Develop robust, scalable, and high-performance applications across front-end and back-end systems.
  • Work with Unity for interactive and immersive experiences where required.
  • Translate creative concepts and designs into functional digital experiences.
  • Integrate applications with APIs and third-party services.
  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following best practices.
  • Take ownership of technical solutions and problem-solving

2. Project Management

  • Contribute to planning, managing, and delivering projects across the full development lifecycle.
  • Work with project managers to prioritise tasks and resources.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and meet quality standards.
  • Support multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Travel for on-site installations, activations, and client meetings where required.
  • Be willing to work flexibly to support project deadlines and live events.

3. Innovation & Creative Technology

  • Stay current with emerging technologies, software, and tools.
  • Explore and utilise AI-assisted development tools to enhance productivity and creative output.
  • Be open to adopting new software, platforms, or methodologies to improve workflows.
  • Contribute ideas that enhance creativity and elevate digital experiences.

4. Collaboration & Communication.

  • Work closely with designers, directors, and project teams.
  • Communicate technical ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Participate in client interactions when required, demonstrating professionalism and expertise

Skills and experience

  • Experience in software development across front-end and/or back-end technologies.
  • Proficiency in one or more languages/frameworks (e.g., JavaScript, Python, Java, .NET, Node.js, React, Vue, Angular)
  • Experience with Unity for interactive, 3D, or immersive projects.
  • Understanding of web technologies (HTML5, CSS, APIs)
  • Experience delivering digital or interactive projects (web, WebGL, VR, or activations)
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Vercel) and version control (GitHub)
  • Ability to produce clean, well-documented, and maintainable code.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Willingness to work flexibly and travel for on-site installations and client engagements.
  • Agency or client-facing experience is a plus.

Desirable

  • Experience with animation libraries, WebGL, or immersive technologies.
  • Strong eye for design and user experience.
  • Interest in creative technology and experiential projects.
  • Experience across both front-end and back-end development.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and workflows.
  • Openness to learning and adopting new software, tools, and platforms.

Additional information

  • £26,000 – £45,000 (depending on experience)
  • Holiday paid whilst working with Unitemps for first 12 weeks. 
  • Possible permanent job for the right person after 12 weeks.
