Role

Research Assistant to coding data from social media. 

Start Date: 06/04/2026

End Date: 30/06/2026

Working Hours: 10 hours per week. To be arranged with hiring manager

Pay Rate: £17.02 per hour

Holiday Pay Rate: £2.05 per hour

Location: UoN, University Park Campus

Dress Code: Smart Casual

Duties and responsibilities

• Using Microsoft Excel to code data
• Experience of carrying out primary research (ideally using social media as a source)
• Meeting with research team to agree coding methodology
• Working with other research assistants to ensure consistent data gathering

Skills and experience

• Experience of primary research
• Experience of using Microsoft excel for coding data
• Experience of using social media for data gathering (incl. Instagram/Bluesky/LinkedIn/X)
• Degree in Social Sciences (or working towards) minimum Year 3 Undergraduate, Masters, or PhD student
