Description
Role
The UCL Welcome Ambassador Programme runs every year and provides current UCL students of all nationalities and levels of study, the chance to work with UCL staff members and help run events and services related to the welcome and induction of new UCL students.
Duties and responsibilities
Attend one of the compulsory training sessions in September.
Maintain punctuality and professionalism within your role.
Be a welcoming, friendly and visible presence on campus.
Act as general welcome ambassador, lead campus tours, manage queues, run information points, and help with the management and running of welcome activities (such as International Events, Welcome Fair, and ID and Help desk rooms).
Provide information and advice to new and current students and staff on campus.
Work alongside and communicate with other Welcome Ambassadors, and when necessary, refer more specific queries to a Senior Welcome Ambassador.
Respond to emails and admin requests promptly.

Person specification
- Essential Criteria
- Must be studying for a degree at UCL. This can be at undergraduate or postgraduate level
- Knowledge of UCL services across the organisation (e.g. Student Support and Wellbeing, Library Services, Careers, Student Funding, Student’s Union).
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to adapt your approach to different student groups, colleagues, staff and visitors.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Able to work in high intensity environments.
- Ability to observe and follow set procedures and guidance.
- Excellent personal organisation and conduct.
- Ensure accurate timekeeping and punctuality.
- Enthusiasm for UCL and keen to support fellow students settle into university life.
- Ability to ask for help or more information when you need it.
- Being open to change, and role-modelling empathy and kindness.
Desirable Criteria:
Familiarity with UCL East Campus.Previous experience with Campus Tour Delivery.

Role Hourly Pay Rate: £14.85 + £2.78 holiday pay
