Role
The Event Staff is responsible for the seamless execution of weddings and private functions, ensuring a superior guest experience through attentive service and efficient operational support. This role involves preparing the venue, assisting guests, and maintaining high standards of presentation and safety throughout the event.

Duties and responsibilities

Venue Setup & Breakdown

  • Assembly: Arrange furniture, including tables, chairs, and staging according to event floor plans.
  • Décor: Install wedding-specific décor, signage, and equipment as directed.
  • Breakdown: Efficiently dismantle event setups, pack away equipment, and clean the venue to its original standard post-event.

Guest Services & Front-of-House

  • Greeting: Provide a warm welcome to guests, check tickets or guest lists, and issue wristbands or badges.
  • Wayfinding: Direct guests to seating, ceremony areas, restrooms, and emergency exits.
  • Information: Act as the first point of contact for attendee enquiries, providing helpful and accurate event information.

Hospitality & Service

  • F&B Service: Serve food and drinks, refill buffets, and perform tray service for receptions.
  • Maintenance: Clear glassware and plates promptly to maintain a tidy event space.
  • Bar Support: Assist with basic bar duties, managing queues, and processing payments as required.

Safety & Compliance

  • Crowd Management: Monitor guest movement to ensure safety and prevent overcrowding.
  • Policies: Enforce venue rules and adhere to health and safety standards, including fire code regulations for seating.
  • Emergency Procedures: Be prepared to assist in evacuations or incident reporting if necessary.

Skills and experience

Previous hospitality or event experience is preferred but not always essential for entry-level roles.

  • Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional communication and a friendly, polished demeanour.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand and remain active for long shifts (8+ hours) and lift equipment (e.g., 15 -25kg).
  • Adaptability: Quick thinking and a proactive attitude to resolve last-minute logistical issues.
  • Availability: Flexibility to work unsociable hours, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.

Additional information
Full training provided on venue systems and safety protocols. 

Staff meals will be provided during long shifts.   
Dress code required: White shirt, Black trousers or skirt, smart flat shoes "not trainers"
