Description

Role

The Course Administrator is a key role in the Course Management team supporting the effective and efficient delivery of services for directly delivered and partnership students. Delivering high-quality administrative support across a wide range of shared service provisions and supporting a number of departmental functions such as finance, student services, etc, the Course Administrator is the first point of contact for students and colleagues.
 
Responding to general queries and understanding when to escalate more complex queries, the role holder will follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) to deliver effective service. The role holder will follow university policies and procedures and will work under supervision, with some limited independence.

Duties and responsibilities
Service first line student and staff enquiries as part of the wider SAS Course Management team via face-to-face, email, telephone or HALO service calls

If required, triage second / third line student and staff enquiries to the relevant service
Exceptional Circumstances
Late & non-submissions
Coordination of student & staff course-related communications
First line fieldtrip administration
Degree apprenticeship student administration
Partnership student administration including Police Education Consortium
Support Student Voice Forums
 
As required, to support the Senior Course Administrators:
Course induction administration incl. Welcome activities
Attendance monitoring interventions
Administration of student prizes
Course administration for all students, including. Erasmus / Turing / British Studies / In-Bound Study
Short Course Administration, including validated credit and non-credit short courses and CPD workshops
Identification and elevation of operational issues to the relevant Team Leader or Manager
Coordination of PAT allocation

Skills and experience

  • Maths, English, Science (C+ GCSE)
  • Experience with Microsoft Suite (Excel, Outlook, Sharepoint and Teams as a priority)
