Description

Role

Do you want to:

  • Gain real-world work experience in an exciting start-up environment?
  • Develop core employment skills such as problem solving, resilience, project management and communication skills?
  • Build your CV and professional network and enhance your employability?
  • Earn while you learn?

If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, then the Graduate Frontiers Internship Programme may be for you.

The programme offers current Warwick graduates the opportunity to undertake a paid internship, of up to 60 hours, with an innovative start-up based in the West Midlands.

There will be a number of projects available. While every effort will be made to match participants to a suitable project, we are not able to guarantee the role you will be allocated. Illustrative types of project include:

  1. Market research, data analysis and reporting.
  2. Media/marketing strategy and content development.
  3. Website and app design.
  4. Business development.
  5. Systems and processes development.

As part of the recruitment process, we will ask you to rank your preferred type of project role. We will then match you to the projects available from our partner businesses.

As well as undertaking an internship and gaining access to skill developing workshops, we will provide bespoke eLearning to further assist you in your personal development and we will allocate a coach, who will support you through your internship.

Duties and responsibilities

Your specific responsibilities will depend upon the internship project that you are allocated as part of the programme. Specific job role details will be shared with you following the assessment centre.

More generally, you will be required to:

  • Commit to the full four-week period of the internship programme (time to be agreed with graduate and business).
  • Attend a 1 hour induction at the start of the programme.
  • Complete the agreed hours of work for the internship project, as agreed with the project host. Maximum working hours will be 60 hours, or 15 hours per week.
  • Meet all stated deadlines of the internship project, as agreed with the project host.
  • Communicate proactively and professionally with the project host.

Skills and experience

Your skills and experience will be assessed when the project allocation takes place following the assessment centre. For this reason, please make sure your CV shows all your education and training to date and highlights specific skills as demonstrated through work experience or relevant projects that you have completed.

  • You must be a Warwick graduate, graduating in either 2026 or 2025
  • No prior experience in startups or innovation is required.
  • Graduate from all disciplines are encouraged to apply.
